Kenesto is proud to announce its sponsorship of CU Hyperloop, a student-led engineering team from the University of Colorado Boulder. CU Hyperloop is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of transportation technology.
CU Hyperloop understands the importance of efficient collaboration, especially when dealing with intricate CAD designs. As their Chief Engineer, Mateo Medelin, explains, “Over the last several years, we’ve tried out different ways of sharing CAD files.”
Medelin continues, outlining the team’s past experiences: “In the early days of our club, we used Google Drive for CAD sharing, which was less than ideal. We then used GrabCAD Workbench until it was discontinued. Immediately before switching to Kenesto, we were using GitHub Desktop and GitHub LFS.”
These limitations became increasingly problematic as CU Hyperloop’s designs grew in size and sophistication. Maintaining accessibility for team members while ensuring version control and preventing accidental overwrites proved a significant challenge.
Kenesto: Power, Simplicity, and Success
Kenesto’s robust cloud-based PDMS system has been instrumental in streamlining CU Hyperloop’s engineering workflow. As Medelin states, “Kenesto has given us an easy way to keep everyone up to date on the latest design changes without worrying about losing work or overwriting someone else’s changes.”
Kenesto offers several key advantages over traditional consumer cloud storage solutions like Dropbox or complex and expensive PDM systems. Its intuitive interface empowers engineers and designers with the tools they need for seamless collaboration.
CU Hyperloop competed in the Not-a-Boring Competition,
a challenging engineering contest where teams aim to excavate a 100-foot tunnel. Since its inception in 2021, no team has yet to complete a full-length tunnel.
While their most recent competition run was cut short by a motor controller malfunction, CU Hyperloop’s achievements are commendable. they secured second place overall and earned the innovation award for their groundbreaking pneumatic propulsion system.
